Reception for Chinese-Turkish Friendship Association and Ankara University awarding Ambassador Song the Medal of Friendship and Honor and Plaque of Intimate Friend of Ankara University was held in the Chinese Ambassador's residence on Mar. 9. Among more than 80 guests attending the reception were Interior Minister Abdülkadir Aksu, Justice Minister Cemil Çiçek, Secretary-General of Presidential Palace Kemal Nehrozoğlu, True Path Party Chairman Mehmet Ağar, university rectors, faculty directors, professors, journalists and celebrities from various fields.

President of Chinese-Turkish Friendship Association and Turkish Promotion Foundation Mr. Kemal Baytaş awarded Ambassador Song the Medal of Friendship and Honor on behalf of the association to commend what Mr. Song had been doing for promoting the relations between China and Turkey and strengthening the understanding and friendship between the Chinese and Turkish people. Rector of Ankara University Mr. Nusret Aras presented to Mr. Song the Plaque of Intimate Friend of Ankara University to appreciate the assistance Mr. Song had provided to Ankara University.

Mr. Song said in the reception that he was much honored to receive the medal and plaque, and emphasized that this should be actually regarded as highly praising the development of friendly relations between China and Turkey, and Chinese and Turkish people as well. Mr. Song expressed thanks to his Turkish friends for their assistance and help and pointed out that he, who had been studying and working in Turkey for a long time, viewed Turkey as his second homeland, and as an ambassador, would do his best to further develop the friendly relations and cooperation between China and Turkey and promote the contacts and friendship between the Chinese and Turkish people.
