Chinese FM meets Turkish counterpart

BEIJING, Nov. 2 (Xinhua) -- Chinese Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi met with his Turkish counterpart Ahmet Davutoglu Tuesday in Beijing and pledged to boost bilateral ties.

Yang hailed the comprehensive progress made on bilateral relations as he had talks with the visiting Turkish Foreign Minister.

The Chinese government hopes to work together with the Turkish side to enrich the content of the China-Turkey strategic cooperation and advance substantial cooperation in politics, economy, security, culture and people-to-people exchanges in an all-around way, Yang said.

Davutoglu echoed Yang's remarks, saying that Turkey respects China's national sovereignty and territorial integrity.

The Turkish side values the development and expansion of the China-Turkey strategic cooperation, and is willing to make joint efforts with the Chinese side to boost bilateral ties, Davutoglu said.

During their talks, the two officials also exchanged ideas on international and regional issues of common interests.
