|Highlights of Chinese premier's activities in Turkey|
ANKARA, Oct. 9 (Xinhua) -- The following are the highlights of Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao's activities in Turkey on Friday.
Wen attended a ceremony to lay a wreath at the mausoleum of Mustafa Kemal Ataturk in Ankara, capital of Turkey.
He and Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan reviewed the honor guard during a welcoming ceremony held for Wen.
Wen and his Turkish counterpart Erdogan held talks on Friday morning, agreeing to establish a strategic cooperative relationship between the two countries for better economic and political ties.
Wen and Erdogan announced the agreement at a press conference following their meeting.
The two leaders also witnessed the signing ceremony of eight pacts which cover such areas as trade, transport, infrastructure, communications and cultural exchanges.
Premier Wen also met with Ihsan Arslan, president of the Turkish-Chinese Friendship Group of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey, and main members of the friendship group in Ankara.
Later in the day, Wen met with Turkish President Abdullah Gul on bilateral relations.
During the meeting, Wen said China is willing to work together with Turkey on the implementation of the important consensus and agreements that the two sides have reached to turn a new chapter in bilateral relations.
