KASHI, Xinjiang, July 31 (Xinhua) -- Three people, including a police officer, were killed in a blast in downtown Kashi, also known as Kashgar, northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region on Sunday afternoon.

Three others were injured, local police said.

Police have nabbed two suspects.

The blast happened at about 4:30 p.m.. Fire-fighters, police and ambulances are rushing to the scene.
