In last May, the central government's conference on Xinjiang's work opened a new chapter for Xinjiang's development and construction. Now, Xinjiang is showing the fruits it got in the past year to the world. People of different ethnic groups in the region will also enjoy more and more benefits.

2011 is the first year of the 12th 5-Year Plan. Xinjiang plans to complete a fixed asset investment of over 620 billion yuan. The year will see the biggest investment and the most projects construction.

 "Xinjiang now is trying all out to realize the leapfrog development. Efficiency is very important and it will propel our progress." said Professor Ji Sulin from Xinjiang party school.

The construction of a series of people's livelihood construction and economic projects bring along the increase of the following figures: in 2010, the average per capita disposable income of urban resident in Xinjiang reached 13,644 yuan, a rise of 11.3 percent year on year; the average per capita net income of rural resident, 4,643 yuan, up 19.6 percent. In the first quarter of this year, the added value of Xinjiang's up-scale enterprises reached 48.12 billion yuan, up 11.5 percent year on year.
