Visa Application Requirements of the People's Republic of China

Issued to foreign crew members of means of international transportation, including aircraft, trains and ships, or motor vehicle drivers engaged in cross-border transport activities, or to the accompanying family members of the crew members of the above-mentioned ships.

 

According to the laws and regulations of the People's Republic of China, Embassy of the People's Republic of China in the Republic of Turkey(Chinese Consulate-General in Istanbul) requests all the visa applicants to do the fingerprints(both hands), the following applicants are exempted from the fingerprints:

1)    Applicant under the age of 14 or over the age of 70;

2)   Applicants who will be issued diplomatic service courtesy visa

3)   Applicant who has done the fingerprints and visa application from the same Chinese Embassy(Consulate) within 5 years;

4)   Applicant who has physical disability or none of the fingerprints can be recorded.

Issued to those who intend to reside in China permanently.(applicant should apply for residence permit after entry within 30 days)

 

F

 

Issued to those who intend to go to China for exchanges, visits, study tours and other activities.

L

 

Issued to those who intend to go to China as a tourist within a tourist group.

M

 

Issued to those who intend to go to China for commercial and trade activities.

Q1

 

Family Reunion

A)    Issued to those who intend to go to China for family reunion purpose:

1)      Chinese citizens' family members

2)      Family or family members of any foreigners who possess Chinese permanent residence permit

Above mentioned "family members" refers to : Spouses, parents, sons, daughters, spouses of sons and daughters, siblings, grandparents from father's side, grandparents from mother's side, grandsons, granddaughters and parents-in-law.

(applicant should apply for residence permit after entry within 30 days)

Foster

B)    Issued to those who intend to go to China for foster care purpose (applicant should apply for residence permit within 30 days after their entry)

Q2

 

Issued to those who intend to visit their relatives who are Chinese citizens residing in China or foreigners with permanent residence in China. The intended duration of stay in China is no more than 180 days.

S1

 

Issued to those who intend to go to China to visit the foreigners working or studying in China to whom they are spouses, parents, sons or daughters under the age of 18 or parents-in-law, or to those who intend to go to China for other private affairs. The intended duration of stay in China exceeds 180 days.

(applicant should apply for residence permit within 30 days after their entry)

 

S2

 

Issued to those who intend to visit their family members who are foreigners working or studying in China, or to those who intend to go to China for other private matters.The intended duration of stay in China is no more than 180 days.

"family members" refers to spouses, parents, sons, daughters, spouses of sons or daughters, brothers, sisters, grandparents, grandsons, granddaughters and parents-in-law.

Issued to those who intend to go to China for medical purpose and the accompany person(limited to 2 persons:  Spouses, parents, sons, daughters, spouses of sons and daughters, siblings, grandparents from father's side, grandparents from mother's side, grandsons, granddaughters and parents-in-law.)

Issued to those who intend to study in China for a period of more than 180 days.

(applicant should apply for residence permit within 30 days after their entry)

Issued to those who intend to study in China for a period of no more than 180 days.

Z

 

Issued to those who intend to work in China.

(applicant should apply for residence permit within 30 days after their entry)

Visa processing time:

Regular service: visas can be obtained on the fifth business day.

Express service: visas can be obtained on the second business day and applicant should pay 25 dollars as the express fee.

 

Reminders

a)      In case of visa denied, visa fee is nonrefundable.

b)      The Consular Officer will deicide on whether or not to issue the multiple entries and the express service request.

 

4) General Procedures For Visa Application

A) Applicants should log in the website (http://cova.cs.mfa.gov.cn) and make an appointment.

B) Print out the "Chinese Visa Online Application Filling Form" and "Confirmation Form". 

C) Prepare all the application documents according to visa type.

D) Applicants should come to the counselor section to hand over the documents and do the finger prints according to their appointment date and time.

E) Go to the ICBC Bank and pay the visa fee to this account number TR580010900002008107390002 according to the Pick Up Form number:

F) Come to the Embassy to pick up visa and passport with pick form and bank receipt.

6) Special Reminder

a) Applicants have to appear in person for fingerprints and to submit all the documents.

b) Applicants should prepare the documents based on the visa criteria. Visa will not be issued in the following cases; documents do not meet with visa criteria, submit fraud materials and documents do not conform to the travel purpose.

c) On the basis of International Law and International Practice, any Sovereign State has the right to deicide on whether or not to allow a foreigner to enter its boundary, in addition, according to the State's own Law to issue visa, deny visa or to cancel visa. Embassy of the People's Republic of China in the Republic of Turkey(Chinese Consulate-General in Istanbul) will take the relevant law and regulation into consideration to decide on the visa type, number of entries, validity, duration of stay and has the right to deny visa application or to revoke the given visas.
