|Fans flaunt fantasy costumes at Ani-Com & Games fair|
BEIJING, Aug. 1 (Xinhuanet) -- Over to Hong Kong, where the 5-day Ani-Com & Games fair, the largest of its kind in Asia, has brought some weird and wonderful characters together. And just like many other comic fairs, the cosplayers fair is guaranteed to be lively.
Sexy, silly, cute and outright bizarre sums up the atmosphere at the annual Ani-Com & Games HK fair. Some have been dressed up by their partners, some have created their own wacky styles, or if you're single and clumsy like me, you can get a little extra help from the beauty booth.
One minute, two minutes, lots of flesh passes by but none comes close to me.
You need the perfect costume, and beautiful accessories and though it doesn't exactly mirror reality, these elegant cosplayers are excellent at being subtly creative.
One visitor said, "I'm cosplaying the character of the white witch. I've chosen pink eye shadow which I think looks more glamorous. I used to simply copy the makeup of the original character and use the colour red, but pink eye shadow has become more fashionable now anyway. "
Another said, "I'm using natural colours for my cosplay today. But the original comic figure's complexion is actually pale white. I just hope after the cosplay, I can go shopping without the makeup running. "
The creative aspects of cosplay are not its only charm. The real attraction is in the fact that it offers fans an alternative way of living and expressing themselves. For some it's an outlet for expressing the hidden depths of their character.
For different cosplayers the cost is not the same. Some spend hundreds of dollars on their costume and others wear a simple hat. But once you get a shot, you may never forget the experience.
